What this site is

The Dry Index is an independent publisher of reference information about dehumidifiers, operated by Slate Mill Group. It sells nothing, ships nothing and services nothing. It publishes compiled specifications, computed figures and buying opinions, and it earns a commission when readers buy through its links.

The limits on the information here

• We have not tested these products. Units we claim to have tested: zero. Every figure is quoted from a named source or computed from published data with the arithmetic shown. The method.
• Specifications change without notice. Manufacturers revise models, alter figures and discontinue products. We re-check quarterly, which means a page can be accurate when written and out of date when read.
• Prices change constantly. Prices here are fetched from the retailer and stamped with the date they were verified. They disappear when older than 48 hours. The price you pay is the one at checkout.
• Nothing here is professional advice. Not electrical advice, not building or structural advice, not health advice. Where a problem needs an electrician, a technician, a building professional or a doctor, the pages say so, and that is the advice to follow rather than anything else on the site.

Using the site

Read it, link to it, quote it with attribution. What we ask you not to do:

• Republish substantial portions as your own content
• Scrape it at a rate that degrades it for other readers
• Present our computed figures as your own measurements
• Use it in a way that misrepresents what we have and have not done

If you want to cite a figure from this site, cite it and link to the page. If the figure came from a primary source we cited, cite that source directly - it is better provenance for you and it is what we would do.

When you follow one you leave this site. Anything that happens after that - the transaction, the delivery, the warranty, the returns - is between you and that retailer under their terms. We are not a party to it and cannot resolve a problem with an order.

Third-party sites

We link to manufacturer documentation, government datasets, standards bodies and other publishers because naming a source is worthless without a route to it. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, which can change or disappear after we link it.

This site is provided as is. We work hard to get every figure right, cite everything, and correct errors promptly - but we do not warrant that the information here is complete, current or error-free, and we are not liable for decisions made on the basis of it.

If you find an error, tell us. We fix errors at the top of the affected page with a dated note rather than silently, which is set out in the editorial policy. Report one.

Our content

The writing, the compiled data tables and the site design are ours. Product names, trademarks and product images belong to their respective owners and are used to identify the products discussed. Product images are served from the retailer's own content delivery network under their program terms.

These terms may change, and the last-updated date at the top of this page changes with them.
